Kani Lin
Director of Finance
Kani comes with a wealth of non-profit accounting experience having served most recently as the Controller at The Unity Council in Oakland, whose mission & size is similar to BFHP. Prior to being at The Unity Council she served as the Controller for the Housing Authority of the City of Alameda for several years.
Kani lives in the East Bay and in her free time enjoys hiking and camping in national parks. She loves traveling and her goal is to visit every continent.
Michelle Martinez
Director of Operations
Michelle is passionate about giving back to her community and has spent her career in nonprofit management possessing over 25 years of experience. She received her MBA specializing in nonprofit management in 1995 from Golden Gate University. Prior to joining Berkeley Food and Housing Project she served as the Director of Finance at By the Bay Health (formerly Hospice by the Bay) and most recently was the CFO/COO at the Bay Area Discovery Museum in Sausalito, CA. She currently serves on the Finance and Audit Committees of St. Vincent de Paul San Rafael.
Michelle lives in Marin County with her husband, teenage son and two very spoiled rescue dogs.
