Meet Judith
During her military service, Judith survived blasts and injuries that left both physical and emotional scars. After being medically discharged, she bravely left an abusive marriage with nothing but the clothes on her back and her beloved dogs, returning to Berkeley, where she had grown up.
A referral to Insight Housing provided Judith with a safe haven and the time she needed to piece her life back together. “Not only did they provide a safe space for me and my dogs, they gave me time to figure my stuff out,” she says. “I was a river of emotion.”
Within two months, she had her own home, a new bed, and a job. “It was a godsend because I was in a very bad place.
