Formerly Berkeley Food & Housing Project
We are very excited to share this Annual Report with you, as this is the first Annual Report under our new name, Insight Housing. This report gives us the opportunity to look back on a year of growth and change for the organization.
Beyond the new name and brand, which we feel reflects our programmatic and geographic expansion, we have also strengthened partnerships, exceeded our fundraising goals, and grown our team of amazing staff members dedicated to our mission to ensure everyone in our community has a home through supportive, equitable, and sustainable housing solutions.
Through all of this growth and change, we have not lost sight of what planted the seed of this organization in 1970; to help our neighbors experiencing food insecurity, which is why we are proud to report that we have increased our meals served from last year’s 66,608 to this year’s 75,640.
Part of this increase is thanks to the kitchen at The Hope Center coming online in October 2022. This kitchen provides hot meals across our residential programs as well as for our free weekday Community Meal. To support this effort, we are wrapping up a two-year, $1 million food campaign.
We are honored by the trust you place in our organization and look forward to what we can accomplish in the coming year. We know that together we can make a difference because good neighbors make great communities.
