Dwight Way Ribbon Cutting

Thank you to all who came to our Dwight Way Center Ribbon Cutting! Today, we OFFICIALLY opened a completely renovated Dwight Way. This transformed space now offers comprehensive support to address the multifaceted causes of homelessness, providing stability, care, and pathways to self-sufficiency for our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

HOUSING THAT HONORS EVERY JOURNEY

FIRST FLOOR – Emergency Women’s Shelter
32 emergency shelter beds providing immediate access to safety for women experiencing homelessness or acute crisis. Participants are connected to services that move them quickly toward permanent housing.

SECOND FLOOR – Veterans Transitional Housing
26 beds of transitional housing for Veterans experiencing homelessness. This includes transitional housing, case management, employment support and housing navigation.

THIRD FLOOR – Board and Care
15 beds of enhanced permanent supportive housing for individuals who have experienced homelessness and have serious mental health diagnoses. 24/7 staff assistance and comprehensive wraparound services rooted in stability and community.

We were honored to share the morning with community members, partners, staff and local leaders, including Berkeley Mayor Adena Ishii, Nicholas Madsen, Assistant Chief, Social Work Service at San Francisco VA Health Care System, and Jonathan Russell, Director of Housing and Homelessness, Alameda County, and, most importantly, the residents of Dwight Way Center. This is purposeful, intentional housing development in action that supports our most vulnerable neighbors. Together, we celebrate a space that creates community and dignity.
